Six sides are what shape this temple kumkum box, from the pointed stand to the angular lid, and above the lid a peacock stands as the handle, its crest curved over its back. The lid is engraved with rays that run out from the centre. A hook clasp sits at the front, and the listing carries the Peacock design under Temple and South Indian styles.
A ruby drop sits in the middle of the lid with green drops on either side, so the two colours listed as in stock face each other across the centre. The stand underneath is cut with leaf-like ridges that run in a pattern, and it gives the piece a wide footprint. Everything above the stand is light and quite delicate, so the peacock is the first thing the eye lands on. The clasp ties the lid to the body at a single point.
