Artificial Bracelets for Women: Types and Sizing Guide

What styles of artificial bracelet can you buy here?

A bracelet is a piece of jewellery worn around the wrist, and artificial bracelets are made in fashion metals and stones rather than precious ones. Use the table to match a style name in a title to a look.

What is an American diamond (AD) bracelet?

American diamond (AD): a trade name for sparkling man-made stones, usually cubic zirconia, which some titles also write as CZ. They look bright and cut like diamonds but are not diamonds, and pieces set with them are artificial jewellery.

AD bracelets are popular because the stones catch light well and suit both Indian and western outfits. The finish names in titles, such as White Rodium or Rose Rodium, describe the colour of the surface, like a cool white or a soft pink, and the product photos show the real tone.

What is the difference between a bracelet, a bangle and a kada?

The groups overlap, and sources treat the lines as a general guide. A bracelet is usually flexible, with a clasp or an adjustable closure. A bangle is a rigid ring that slides over the hand, and a kada is a thicker, heavier bangle. Look at the Blue Nile comparison of bangles and bracelets for the same distinction.

How do you measure your wrist for a bracelet?

Fit conventions vary by maker, so check the length on each product page. To find your own number, wrap a soft tape or a strip of paper around the wrist where the bracelet will sit, just below the wrist bone, mark where it meets and measure it with a ruler. Do not measure over a watch or sleeve. The Sundrop Jewelry wrist guide advises adding an allowance, and the amount depends on the fit you want.

Fit you wantAdd to your wrist measurement
Snug1/4 to 1/2 inch (about 0.6 to 1.3 cm)
Comfortable3/4 to 1 inch (about 1.9 to 2.5 cm)
Loose1 to 1 1/4 inches (about 2.5 to 3.2 cm)

These numbers come from that guide and are a starting point, since makers differ. A thick, stone-set bracelet has a smaller inner circumference than a thin chain of the same length, so it needs a larger size. If you are between sizes, choose the larger length, and ask us if a design is unclear.

Are bracelets adjustable?

Some are. A title that says adjustable describes a bracelet with a sliding or extendable closure, and the product page shows the range. Others have a fixed hook or clasp. If the fit is not stated, contact us with the product name before you order.

Which bracelet goes with a saree or a lehenga?

For a silk saree, an antique or Rajwadi bracelet echoes the zari border. For a cotton or georgette saree, a slim pearl or AD bracelet is enough. With a lehenga, choose a stone-set bracelet in the same finish as your necklace and bangles, and skip extra rings if the hands are already busy. Our saree and lehenga colour guide shows which stone colours suit each outfit.

Which bracelet is best for daily wear?

A slim pearl, chain or charm bracelet is comfortable for daily wear because it does not catch on sleeves or knock against a desk. Choose adjustable styles for working at a laptop, and keep stone-set pieces for evenings. Remove any bracelet before washing hands, cooking or exercising.

Which hand should you wear a bracelet on?

There is no rule. Many people wear a bracelet on the hand they use less, because it is less likely to catch, and a watch wearer often puts the bracelet on the other wrist. Others wear one on each wrist. Choose what feels comfortable.

Should you choose a white or a gold-tone bracelet?

Choose by the rest of your jewellery. A white finish, such as White Rodium, looks cool and modern and goes with pastel, black, navy and white outfits. A warm gold-tone finish, such as High Gold or Rajwadi polish, suits red, maroon, green and mustard, and silks with zari. If you wear both tones, two-tone bracelets bridge the gap, and a few designs on this page use that mix.

Bracelet sets, packs and layering

Some western designs, such as butterfly and charm bracelets, are sold in packs of three. The title says what is in the pack, and the photos show the designs. Packs are handy because you can wear them together or on separate days. To layer, mix one stone-set bracelet with a plain chain, and keep the same metal tone.

Bracelet watches

A few bracelets carry a small dial set into an ornamental band. They also appear on our watches page, which explains what to check before buying.

Matching your bracelet with other jewellery

Match the finish with your earrings, necklace sets, pendant sets and finger rings. For a sparkling look, browse the wider range of American diamond jewellery. For heritage styles, see antique jewellery. Bracelets also make easy gifts, and our Diwali and Bhai Dooj jewellery gift ideas has more ideas.

Choosing a bracelet within your budget

Use the price filter above the products to set your limit, then compare designs inside it. Slim chain and charm bracelets suit smaller budgets, and stone-set pieces cost more. Free shipping starts at Rs 499, so a bracelet added to an earring pair can help an order reach it.

Looking after your bracelet

Take it off before washing, swimming or applying lotion, since water and creams can dull stones and finishes. Store each bracelet in a separate pouch so stones do not scratch each other, and wipe with a soft dry cloth after wearing. These habits help any artificial jewellery, though no finish can be promised to last forever.

Questions? Contact us, read about OyeKudiye or check the shipping policy. Orders outside India are handled on request.

What is the difference between a bracelet and a kada?

Wrap a soft tape or strip of paper around the wrist where the bracelet will sit, just below the wrist bone, mark where it meets and measure the length. Conventions vary by maker, so choose the larger size if you are between two.

Both terms describe fashion jewellery made without precious metal or stones. Artificial is the word most shoppers use now, and imitation is an older word that means the same thing here. Each product page lists the finish and the stones of that design.

What is the price range of bracelets here?
