About This South Indian Kumkum Box
South Indian Kumkum Box in Rajwadi Finish is a kumkum box with a metal alloy base, a Rajwadi finish and artificial stones, weighing 99 gm and available in Ruby Green. Made in India and shipped across India in 2–4 business days.
Standing on a round, patterned platform, a cow looks down at her calf in this South Indian kumkum box, and the cow carries the lid on her back as a decorated saddle cloth. The cloth opens on a hinge and closes with a small loop clasp. The finish is Rajwadi, the style is Traditional, and the listing files it under Temple Jewellery.
Stones in ruby and green, the two colours in stock, run in bands down both sides of the saddle cloth and appear again as drops around the edge of the platform. The calf has its own small stone, a green one, on the back. The platform is finely patterned and ringed with small studs, so the figures seem set on a plate made for them, and both animals face the same way.
Solid at 99 gm, the group stands firm on the plate without leaning, even when the saddle is open. Cast in metal alloy, it carries artificial stones. The saddle opens onto a hollow space big enough for kumkum or sindoor. Other animal designs are in sindoor boxes.
