About This Tortoise Sindoor Dibbi
Tortoise Antique Stone-Studded Sindoor Dabbi in Rajwadi Finish is a sindoor box with a metal alloy base, a Rajwadi finish and artificial stones, weighing 30 gm and available in Ruby Green. Made in India and shipped across India in 2–4 business days.
Some sindoor dibbi designs are plain cylinders. This antique one takes the form of a tortoise, a small lidded container for sindoor that is compact, rounded and low, so it rests easily in the palm.
The shell is the lid, divided into small panels, with a stone set into each panel. A little head extends from the front, and the legs tuck in close to the body. Ruby Green is the colour listed, and the finish is Rajwadi. The stones are artificial, which gives the shell a rich look without adding any bulk. Round the edge of the shell runs a thin raised border that gives the shape a clear outline, and the small size makes it feel like a keepsake.
Thirty grams is all it weighs, so it slips into a handbag or a drawer without trouble, and the lid shuts with a small, firm click. On a dressing table it works as a small ornament even when it is shut, and it is just as easy to place on a bedroom shelf. The body is metal alloy. More designs wait under sindoor boxes.
