South Indian Sindoor Box in Rajwadi Finish is a sindoor box with a metal alloy base, a Rajwadi finish and artificial stones, weighing 135 gm and available in Ruby Green. Made in India and shipped across India in 2–4 business days.
Rajwadi finish covers this lion, a South Indian sindoor box with a full mane, a textured back and a tail that curls out behind. The lion stands with its head lowered and one paw forward, and the hinge runs along the back, where a small loop clasp holds it shut. Listed styles are South Indian and Royal.
Small stones in the two colours in stock, ruby and green, are dotted across the back and the legs, a few at a time, so the surface still looks like fur. The mane is carved in deep strands, and the face has ruby eyes. As a table piece the lion has presence, and it faces forward on a shelf or a side table the way a guardian figure would, with its head low and its eyes on the room.
Solid at 135 gm, it stays put even when the lid is opened. A metal alloy body holds the artificial stones. Inside the back there is a roomy well for sindoor or kumkum, easy to reach with the lid raised on its hinge. Further animal shapes can be found in sindoor boxes.
