Meenakari colouring is the first thing to see on this kundan maang tikka: a round disc with a smooth pink surface and a petal pattern, stones set in the petals, and a crescent of kundan-style stones beneath it from which six round drops swing. Above the disc a chain of paired leaf-shaped stones leads to a ring at the top.

Colour options include pink, green, ruby, white, mint green and a mint green and pink mix, and the photograph shows pink. A pastel colour like this sits well with a saree in a soft shade, a lehenga with a thin border or a plain kurta set, while the stronger ones suit deeper silks. Hair centre-parted and pulled back keeps the long chain visible, and simple earrings let the disc be the focus.
