A sindoor dibbi is a small covered box, and this antique one takes the outline of a rounded shell. On its lid a seated figure rests his chin on one hand, set among flowers and scrolls in deep relief, and a narrow border of fine beading follows the edge. A small catch at the foot opens it. The style is Antique, and the listing marks the box for pooja.
Teardrop stones sit along the rim at the top and the sides, each in its own frame, and ruby and green are the two shades in stock. The figure is the centre of the design, and the stones stay near the edge where they do not compete with the face. The lid lies almost flat, so the box is wider than it is tall.
