About This Antique Sindoor Box
Antique Seated Figure Sindoor Box with Drawer in Rajwadi Finish is a sindoor box with a metal alloy base, a Rajwadi finish and artificial stones, weighing 98 gm and available in Ruby Green. Made in India and shipped across India in 2–4 business days.
Is this sindoor box a shrine or a drawer? Both: a seated figure rests his chin on one hand under a leaf-edged arch, and the platform below him slides open as a drawer. The arch is carved with a ridged border, the platform stands on curled feet, and the finish is Rajwadi with an antique look.
Pear-shaped stones in ruby and green, the colours in stock, line the front edge of the platform and the face of the drawer, and a few more are set into the arch. A pair of scroll bands runs across the drawer front. Since the drawer slides straight out, the sindoor stays level, and nothing needs to be lifted off first, which is gentler on a piece with a figure on top.
Weighing 98 gm, the box feels weighty, and the four curled feet keep it steady. It is built of metal alloy with artificial stones. The drawer is shallow, so it suits a small amount of sindoor or kumkum for daily use, with the figure keeping watch above it. If you want a different layout, see sindoor boxes.
