A chain set is a thin necklace with matching earrings and little else, and this necklace set for women keeps to that plainly. The chain is flat and slightly ribbed, and small ridged shell drops hang from it in a loose line, with two of the drops replaced by a round stone in a thin rim.
The earrings are short studs, a round stone with one shell below, so the face is framed lightly. Stone work is in ruby green and the finish is Rajwadi. The shells sit slightly apart, which keeps the line clear and gives it some movement when you walk. It is a calmer piece than the heavier sets in the same finish.
Wear it with a simple saree, a salwar suit or a straight kurta, where there is room for a light necklace to show. At 21 cm it hangs below the collarbone without reaching the chest.
