Transparent Yellow is the colour listed for this pearl maang tikka, and the whole piece is built around it: seven teardrop-shaped pieces open out from a small flower like the spread of a hand, and a row of pearls hangs below them, each on its own short drop. A chain of small round pieces carries it up to the hook.

Because the colour is a soft one, it does not compete with a patterned blouse or a bordered dupatta, and the antique look sits comfortably with a cotton-silk saree, a lehenga that has a thin edge, or a plain anarkali.
