Light and long, this maang tikka for women weighs 19 gm and runs a good length down the forehead: a narrow panel of squares set on a point leads from the hook to a round medallion, and small drops hang from the medallion, ending in one teardrop at the very bottom.

The South Indian tag and the Sheeshphool name describe a head ornament that sits at the centre of the parting, so it goes with a long kurta, a bandhani dupatta, a plain silk saree or a lehenga, and with hair split in the middle and gathered at the back.
