Fine ring chains at each end, a broad band in the middle: that is how this antique vaddanam is built, a wide South Indian hip belt in a Mehendi finish. The band is made of two rows of linked lozenge shapes, each with a small ruby coloured centre, and a fringe of tiny drops hangs below the lower row. The ring chains at the ends let you set the fit.
Ruby is the colour in stock, and it shows in every lozenge centre and in the fringe, so the band reads as a dense, warm pattern with a dark, aged tone from the Mehendi finish.
