Short and rich, that describes this temple necklace set in a South Indian style: a chain of leaf-shaped links holds small ruby-coloured and green stones, and the chain meets a Lakshmi pendant at the front, framed by carved scrollwork. Along the bottom of the pendant hang green oval beads, set apart by tiny pearl-coloured drops. The matching earrings are jhumkas with the same pearl drops.

What is stocked is ruby green. It appears in the leaf links and the beads, and the matte finish keeps the metal quiet, so the colour reads as a gentle accent. A pale saree with a woven border suits it, and so does a plain dark one. Because the neckline of the necklace is short, a V or round neckline lets the pendant sit free.
