Waist chain is the name the page gives this traditional piece, and a waist belt for women hardly gets more classic: a patterned chain with a close row of small round drops along its lower edge. The drops sit tightly side by side, so the edge is nearly continuous, and the chain above has a fine double-line pattern. It is filed under the antique kamar patta group.

The one colour listed is a soft pale shade. Seen on a silk saree in the photograph, the dense row of drops gives the belt body and a soft glow, and the patterned chain gives it a firm top edge.
