Hair jewellery of this shape is long and flat, and this temple piece with a Lakshmi design follows that form: a strip of textured, pebbled metal with a round medallion at the top, where a seated Lakshmi figure sits inside a ring of small round settings. Triangular panels of tiny pale settings run down the strip at intervals, and a fine border edges each side.

One colour is on the page, a soft pale shade. The photograph shows the piece lying flat, and the effect is of a long, narrow band of warm, textured metal, broken by the pale triangles, with the round medallion as the focus at the top.
