A payal for women is an ankle chain meant to sit close to the skin, and this one carries a row of small round drops along its length. A fine twisted chain forms the base. Each drop hangs from it on its own short link, spaced at regular gaps. At the clasp, a hook and loop close the chain, with two tiny bells beside it. The chain itself is narrow, so the drops stay the focus.
Repetition is the whole idea here. The drops move a little with every step, so the line keeps shifting instead of lying still. This antique North style design has no colour options, only the single look you see in the photographs. It works with a salwar suit, a straight skirt or a saree draped to the ankle, wherever the hem lets the chain be seen.
