About These Antique Bangles

These antique bangles are cut in an openwork lattice, a fine mesh of small windows, with a row of stones running down the middle of each of the four bands. The rows alternate between clear stones and coloured ones, so the centre line keeps a steady rhythm while the lattice fills the space on either side. The style is traditional, and the four bangles match.
The listing gives ruby and green. They appear as every second or third stone in the row, with clear stones between, which keeps the colour light and the band bright. The result is a set that goes with almost any outfit, from a plain cotton saree to a rich silk one. All four on one wrist look generous, and two on each hand look more restrained.
