Built in one row, this party wear vaddanam is the slimmer kind of South Indian hip belt: linked lozenge shapes, each with a clear round centre, join end to end in an unbroken line, and a tiny ruby coloured drop hangs from the point of each one. Ring chains at both ends let you size it. The finish is the dark, aged Mehendi tone, and the page lists the style as antique and South Indian.
The colour in stock is ruby, which appears only in the drops, so the belt looks mostly pale and metallic with a fringe of dark ruby at the lower edge.
