Built in two parts, these chandbali earrings begin with a small stone above a ring of round stones, and end in a crescent frame with a large stone at its centre. Fine beads line the lower curve of the frame in two rows, so the whole base looks softly fringed.

The oxidised finish gives the metal a deeper tone and shows the stone setting clearly. The option listed in stock is multicolour, and the large round stone at the centre carries it. At 4 cm by 5.5 cm the earring is wide rather than long, which is a handy shape if you prefer width to length, since it fills out the face without reaching the shoulder. It works with a saree in a plain weave, a kurta with a round neck or a skirt and top, and loose hair shows it off without hiding it.
