Must a bangles set for women be slim to look refined? Not this one. Each band is broad, edged on both sides with rows of rounded bead motifs, and it still reads as ordered because the rows are so even. You get 2 bangles, both in Rajwadi.

Down the centre run narrow rectangular panels, each with a round ruby-coloured stone in the middle, so the eye travels from one panel to the next. Ruby is the colour listed for this piece, and every stone is artificial. The inside of the second bangle shows the same bead rows continuing round the back. The rounded motifs are packed closely, which gives the edges a raised, textured line, while the flat panels in between give the eye somewhere to rest. The mix of busy and plain keeps the width from feeling heavy.

They weigh 113 gm for the set of 2, enough to be noticed without any other bangles. A plain saree or a kurta with a simple neckline lets the beaded edges show.
