You wear these antique bangles slowly, because at 118 gm they are heavy, rounded and full of carved detail. The pair has a Rajwadi finish, and each bangle is built as a thick band with raised medallions spaced along it and a line of square artificial stones in between.

Ruby is the colour listed. The square stones sit one after another in a channel down the middle of the band, with carved lines on either side, and the round medallions interrupt the line at intervals and carry a small stone at the centre, which breaks up the row and adds depth. On the inside, the band opens into a lattice pattern, which gives the inside as much pattern as the outside.

Because of the weight, this pair is a statement piece. Wear both together with a heavy silk saree or a lehenga, and let the rest of your jewellery stay light, such as small studs and a thin chain.
