The surface is worked with fine engraved lines, and a framed centre stone with a ring of tiny beads sits at each end of the band. Along the edge run teardrop stones in ruby, with small flower-like stone clusters between them, and a flat panel with a criss-cross pattern fills the middle. Ruby is the colour listed for this piece. Every stone is artificial. The panels and stones are laid out in a fixed order, so each band has a clear top and a clear edge, and the engraving gives the bare areas some texture rather than leaving them flat.
